Major Giving Officer (4/26/24)

The Major Giving Officer oversees all aspects of prospecting and direct solicitation of major gifts, including prospect research, relationship building, solicitation strategy, stewardship, and organizational reporting. This position will manage a portfolio of 100 + individual donors with the potential of a major gift, defined as $2,500 or more. The emphasis of the Major Giving Officer is to maximize the donations from individual donors to support essential mission-related activities in alignment with strategic goal achievement.

Director of Donor Engagement (3/13/24)

The Director of Donor Engagement is a full-time position that reports to the Vice President and Chief Development Officer (CDO). This position is primarily responsible for fostering and nurturing relationships with current fundholders by providing specialized and unique services and experiences to inform, connect with and engage them in their philanthropy. The Director of Donor Engagement will also be responsible for attracting, retaining, and growing philanthropic support for new and existing funds at Akron Community Foundation. Additional responsibilities will include creating new ways to collaborate and leverage grantmaking dollars with existing foundation initiatives, in particular increasing co-investment strategies and capacities.

Director of Economic Development (3/2/24)

The Director of Economic Development is responsible for the development, administration, measurement, and planning of existing and future economic development programs for the Foundation. This full-time position works closely with the Foundation team, City of Barberton officials, Barberton City School District, and other area economic development stakeholders and agencies, in addition to the Foundation team liaison to the board’s Economic Development Committee.

Director of Development (2/8/24)

The position of Director of Development is responsible for helping develop and implement the agency’s annual plan for the viable financial support of the agency; from government sources, foundations, corporations and private donors. Responsibilities include direct fund-raising efforts including donor relations, research, grant writing, mailing list management, donor history data collection and advocacy. This position is also responsible for assisting in the coordination and implementation of all marketing/public relations opportunities for ACCESS. These include agency newsletters, e-newsletters, website updates, press releases, special events, and advocacy in the community. Being part of the senior staff requires being on call for 1 week per month average for the shelter. This is a full-time salary exempt position which requires some travel and occasional weekend/holiday and after-hours availability.
