School Board Member

Immediate opening for a School Board member for The Edge Academy/Akros Middle School/AkroTech High School. This is a volunteer position. The school board meets six (6) times per year on the second or third Monday every other month at 4:00 p.m. Meetings typically last 2 hours or less. The remaining dates for the 2024-2025 school year are March 17 and May 19.

Our district mission is: Read, Lead, Succeed. The schools hold close to their hearts the following core values: leadership, collaboration, college and career readiness, excellence, and equity. The mission of the three schools is to provide an environment of academic excellence where students become compassionate, empathic leaders. The elementary school is one of the longest standing charter schools in Ohio opening in 1999. The middle school opened their doors in 2011 and the high school opened in 2022. There are a total 425 student among the three schools and we are growing. the school's campus is located in downtown Akron at the corner of Union and Perkins streets (92 N.
