Community Leadership Institutes

Leadership Akron’s Community Leadership Institute (CLI) combines individual development with community engagement, emphasizing leadership traits that are valuable in both community and professional settings. Each CLI session connects participants with top decision makers and includes access to best-in-class community assets. Leadership Akron offers an open application process for its Community Leadership Institute. This is offered each spring and fall. In addition to Leadership Akron’s overall CLI program, customized employer-based CLI’s are available to specific organizations.

The History

Local employers have expressed an interest in Leadership Akron providing a way for more of their employees to connect with our work and with the community since the Signature Program class is limited to one participant from any given employer. In response, Leadership Akron successfully piloted an experience with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in 2011 that blended leadership development and community awareness. Based on the success of this model and the positive feedback from research with local human resources managers, we are pleased to have completed more than a dozen different CLI programs. We are excited to offer this opportunity to further develop your talent and connect your leaders with our community.
