Leadership Akron names Wendy Bolas Interim President

Leadership Akron has named Wendy Bolas Interim President while the search committee embarks on finding a permanent replacement for Mark Scheffler. Scheffler will begin later this month as the new Executive Director at the Timken Foundation of Canton.
“I’ve known and worked with Wendy for 26 years. She’s a consummate Leader, both strategic and tactical. And she’s gifted with the ability to develop healthy relationships with all colleagues and community members alike,” states Nicholas V. Browning, President of Huntington Bank’s Akron region and chair of the Leadership Akron board of trustees.
Bolas, a Summit County resident, is a graduate of Leadership Akron class of 2004 and has volunteered her time to the organization in a variety of ways including most recently serving as the Vice President of the Alumni Association. Professionally, she was the Senior Vice President and Business Banking Manager for FirstMerit Bank now Huntington Bank, retiring in 2016. Bolas holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Baldwin Wallace University and an Associate of Applied Business degree in Business Management Technology from the University of Akron.
