Leadership Akron Class 33 Solicits Letters of Interest for Annual Grant

Focus is on efforts to assist juvenile/youth in crisis in Summit County.

Leadership Akron Class 33 is seeking letters of interest from nonprofit agencies and other organizations that support efforts that will positively impact juvenile/youth in crisis in Summit County, Ohio.

The current Leadership Akron Class developed the Juvenile/Youth in Crisis Impact Grant as the focus for its 2017 philanthropy project. The grant will apply to a maximum of two organizations, at least one of which must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Organizations who are able to collaborate to make a greater impact as a result of each of their areas of expertise are preferred. The purpose of this grant is to encourage organizations to address juvenile/youth in crisis in one or more of the following areas; education, food insecurity, or human trafficking.

Class 33 is offering a grant(s) totaling up to $10,000. The grant, made possible through the generous support of United Way of Summit County, will be awarded by June 2017.

The lead organization submitting the letter of interest must meet the following requirements: must be a 501(c)(3) organization located in Summit County, and must not currently employ any Leadership Akron Class 33 members. Letters of interest are due by January 20, 2017. The letter should include the organization’s name, appropriate contact information, mission, and a detailed description of the project, including a project budget and measurable project outcomes. In addition to the letter of interest, each applicant should include a brief letter of support from the collaborating partner(s).

Organizations will be notified by February 10, 2017, regarding the next steps in the grant selection process.
