Laura Culp named recipient of 2017 Lieberth Community Vision Award

Friday, May 26, 2017

Leadership Akron has named Laura Culp, Partner at Sikich, LLP, as the recipient of this year’s Lieberth Community Vision Award. The first Lieberth Community Vision Award was named for and presented to Mr. David Lieberth, a founder of Leadership Akron, in recognition of his outstanding community service and leadership.

Culp was selected for this award because of her significant contributions to our community through involvement with nonprofits and her numerous leadership roles within these organizations. Culp served as the Board Chair for Leadership Akron from 2012-2014. Her community involvement has also included key leadership roles with the United Way of Summit County, where she is chairing the 2017 campaign; the Akron Area YMCA; Akron General Health System; and The University of Akron's College of Business.

Culp is a strong and committed volunteer, and has received numerous community awards. She was honored with the Women of Achievement Award from the Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio, as well as the Simonetti Distinguished Alumni Award from The University of Akron.

“Laura has faithfully served numerous organizations with insightful leadership and a deep commitment to the community's well-being. These qualities have made her a difference-maker for each organization where she has played a leadership role, including Leadership Akron.” said Mark Scheffler, president of Leadership Akron.

Culp will receive her award during the Lieberth Community Vision Award Breakfast at 7:30am on November 9, 2017 at the John S. Knight Center. Sponsorship opportunities and individual tickets are available at various levels.
